Lorsque l'on rapporte des paroles et que le verbe introducteur est au passé, il ne faut pas oublier la concordance des temps:

will  ===devient ===> would

ex : She said: " I will come"  ( Elle a dit : "Je viendrai" )

      She said that she would come ( Elle a dit qu'elle viendrait )

can ====devient ====> could

ex:   She said: "I can do it"  ( Elle a dit : "Je peux le faire" )

       She said that she could do it.. ( Elle a dit qu'elle pouvait le faire )

présent simple ====devient ====> prétérit simple

ex: She said: " I love you"   ( Elle a dit : "Je t'aime" )

     She said that she loved me. ( Elle a dit qu'elle m'aimait )
