Marilyn Monroe was one of the most famous American actresses of the 20th century. She was born and died in Los Angeles. She was married (and divorced) three times. Her second husband was a famous baseball player. Her last husband was a famous writer. She had a difficult childhood and this led to later problems with drink and drugs. There were rumours that she was a mistress of President John F Kennedy. There is still controversy surrounding her death and some people think that she was murdered.
